Château Lilian Ladouys is located in the southern sector of Saint-Estèphe on gravel and clay with limestone and has recently been promoted to Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel. The now enlarged vineyard covers around seventy hectares planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc on well-drained, stony soils. The estate follows demanding environmental standards and is moving towards full organic farming. Grapes are hand harvested, each parcel is vinified separately and the wine is aged in French oak barrels. The nose shows blackcurrant, blackberry and plum with floral, herbal and toasty notes. On the palate Lilian Ladouys is dense and juicy yet polished, with ripe tannins, lively freshness and a long, spicy, cool-toned finish.
