Ch. Mongravey Margaux – A True Delight from Margaux
Château Mongravey is a family-run Cru Bourgeois estate in Arsac, within the Margaux appellation. Its roughly twelve to thirteen hectares are split into parcels on Quaternary Garonne gravel hilltops rich in sand and pebbles, providing very good drainage. The vineyard is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with vines averaging around thirty years of age. Hand-picked grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats before ageing in French oak barrels with a high share of new oak. The bouquet delivers cassis, ripe raspberry and plum alongside violet, vanilla and gentle toast. On the palate Mongravey is juicy and dense yet refined, with smooth tannins, Margaux finesse and a long, spicy-fruited finish.
