| The white Châteauneuf du Pape from Domaine des Sénéchaux is one of the rare whites from this famous appellation. The blend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Bourboulenc comes from carefully selected plots and is vinified with great delicacy. On the nose it offers a layered bouquet of white flowers, ripe pear, yellow apple and citrus, rounded out by hints of honey and anise. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and creamy, yet remains elegant thanks to its lively acidity and mineral tension. Discreet notes of oak and vanilla are finely integrated and emphasise the depth of the cuvée. This white wine is an excellent match for fine fish dishes, shellfish, poultry in sauce and refined, aromatic cuisine. With a little bottle age it gains even more complexity and length. | |
