Faiveley Batard Montrachet – A true delight from Bourgogne Grand Cru
Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru from Domaine Faiveley ranks among the great chardonnays of the Côte de Beaune, sourced from limestone- and clay-rich parcels between Puligny and Chassagne. The nose reveals pear, lime zest and white flowers alongside notes of toasted bread and roasted hazelnuts. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with broad shoulders, ripe acidity and plenty of structuring extract. Carefully judged barrel ageing adds smoky, toasty nuances and fine spice while preserving tension and precision. The texture is both silky and powerful, leading into an exceptionally long, layered finish. A truly great Grand Cru with impressive ageing potential, ideal with fine fish, shellfish or poultry in rich, creamy sauces.
