Discover the Character of Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild Pauillac
Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild is the second wine of Château Mouton Rothschild in Pauillac, produced from selected younger vines. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates the blend, which is matured in barriques in the same manner as the grand vin. The bouquet is packed with cassis, blackberry and dark cherry, layered with cedar, pencil shavings and subtle spice. On the palate the wine is concentrated and structured, with dense fruit and firm, ripe tannins. A bright, linear acidity keeps the power in check and leads into a long, savoury, graphite-tinged finish. A noble Pauillac that impresses in its youth and will gain complexity with cellar time, ideal for roast beef, lamb or game dishes.
