| Pittnauer’s Zweigelt, formerly bottled under the Heideboden name, comes from organically farmed vineyards close to Lake Neusiedl and captures the generous, juicy side of this Austrian variety. The bouquet combines warm cherry, sour cherry and ripe berry fruit with hints of violet and gentle spice. On the palate it is medium-bodied, soft and easy-drinking, with lots of red fruit, subtle herbal notes and a touch of cocoa. Around six months in large oak casks add polish and supple tannins without heaviness. The finish is smooth, fruity and moreish, making this Zweigelt a relaxed partner for pizza, pasta, barbecues and everyday dishes. | |
