For connoisseurs: Cachat Ocquidant Ladoix Blanc from Bourgogne
Cachat-Ocquidant’s Ladoix Blanc is drawn from several parcels around Ladoix‑Serrigny at the northern gateway to the Côte de Beaune. The predominantly limestone soils on the lower slopes of the Corton massif yield a clearly defined, mineral‑driven Chardonnay. The bouquet offers citrus, green apple, hints of white blossom and stone fruit, with subtle touches of vanilla and nuts. On the palate, the wine is fresh, juicy and well balanced, with medium body, gentle creaminess and lively but integrated acidity. A chalky, slightly saline minerality runs through the flavours and gives length and precision. The style is more accessible and straightforward than the domaine’s single‑vineyard wines, yet still very much marked by its origin. A versatile white Burgundy that works well as an aperitif and with fish, white meats, seasonal vegetables or mild cheeses.
