Château La Conseillante
A violet capsule may be the visual signature, but the real legend is written in the soils of Pomerol: Château La Conseillante has carried its name for some three centuries, traced to Catherine Conseillan, the formidable Libourne merchant who shaped the estate’s early identity. In 1871 the Nicolas family took the helm and still stewards the property today, with continuity as a guiding principle.
The vineyard is a true patchwork, mapped into distinct soil types where gravel and clay meet pockets of iron-rich material. Merlot brings breadth and satin texture; Cabernet Franc adds cool, floral tension. Hand harvesting, rigorous sorting and measured extraction aim for finesse.
Ageing, largely in barrique, is about polish rather than volume. The wine reads as Pomerol with silk and backbone: refined, deep, and built for time, as if each plot were allowed to speak in its own register.Château La Conseillante
