BrandChâteau La Croix du Casse
RegionEurope - France - Bordeaux - Right Bank - Pomerol
CategoryWines - Red wine

Château La Croix du Casse sits on the southern edge of the Pomerol plateau with about 9–13 hectares of vines on sandy, gravelly soils streaked with iron deposits. The vineyard is planted mostly with Merlot and a smaller share of Cabernet Franc, and the average vine age is around thirty years. This mix of sand, gravel and crasse de fer produces a supple, medium-bodied style of Pomerol. The bouquet offers dark cherry, plum and berry fruit with notes of chocolate, spice and forest floor. On the palate La Croix du Casse is smooth and approachable, with ripe tannins, gentle acidity and a juicy, fruit-driven finish.
