Le C des Carmes Haut-Brion

In Pessac-Léognan, just inside the city limits of Bordeaux, Le C des Carmes Haut-Brion captures the spirit of an urban clos unlike any other. Its story begins in 1584, when Carmelite monks tended vines on this land—an origin that still echoes in the name and the sense of place.

Since Patrice Pichet acquired the estate at the end of 2010, a new era has focused on precision, crowned by the Philippe Starck–designed winery opened in 2016. Parcels are worked with strict selection for “Le C”, fermentations can unfold in a range of materials, and élevage is guided to balance freshness, depth and definition without masking terroir.

Conceived as the second wine, Le C remains built on rigor: contemporary cellar craft, historic roots, and a modern Bordeaux identity expressed with restraint.
