| Poças Late Bottled Vintage is a single-harvest Ruby Port aged for several years in large oak vats before being bottled, typically without filtration. It pours a deep ruby colour and offers an expressive nose of black cherry, blackberry and plum together with cocoa, liquorice and a touch of spice. On the palate it is full-bodied and powerful yet well balanced, with concentrated dark fruit, firm but ripe tannins and a vibrant line of acidity. The finish is long, fruity and slightly peppery. This LBV is excellent with chocolate desserts, mature cheeses or simply enjoyed on its own after a meal. Even after opening, it keeps its character for several weeks if stored cool and dark. | |
