Prieur Corton Charlemagne – An experience for true connoisseurs
Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru from Domaine Jacques Prieur comes from a steep, east-facing plot above the village of Ladoix-Serrigny. The extremely chalky soil gives Chardonnay crystalline minerality and vibrant tension from the first sip. The bouquet reveals lemon, lime and white peach alongside notes of pear, aniseed, white pepper and crushed chalk. On the palate the wine is concentrated and taut, with energetic acidity and a salty, sapid finish that lingers. Fine oak is perfectly integrated and underscores the cool, stony freshness. This is a magnificent Grand Cru for noble fish, shellfish or refined poultry dishes, and it leaves the palate vibrating with energy.
