Ch.Poujeaux Moulis – A True Delight from Medoc
Château Poujeaux is a long-established Cru Bourgeois estate in Moulis-en-Médoc and a benchmark for this small appellation between Margaux and Saint-Julien. Vines rooted in gravel and clay are planted mainly with cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot. The wine opens with aromas of ripe cassis, blackberry and black cherry, joined by notes of dried herbs, tobacco and dark chocolate. On the palate it is powerful yet elegant, with firm, well-knit tannins and juicy acidity. Hints of roasted coffee, nougat and spice add depth to the long finish. It is a superb partner for beef, lamb, game birds and hearty stews.
