Château Haut-Bages Libéral Pauillac – A True Delight from Pauillac
Château Haut-Bages Libéral is a Fifth Growth Pauillac estate with about 30 hectares of vines on clay-limestone and deep gravel soils around the Bages plateau. The vineyard is planted roughly 70% to Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% to Merlot and has been certified organic and biodynamic since 2019. This stony, breezy terroir gives a straight, energetic expression of Pauillac. The bouquet shows cassis, blackberry and redcurrant with violet, graphite and subtle cedar. On the palate Haut-Bages Libéral is structured yet supple, with ripe tannins, bright acidity and a long, mineral, slightly saline finish.
