Dame de Montrose

As the second expression of Château Montrose, Dame de Montrose from St.Estephe offers a different angle on one of the Médoc’s most storied sites.

Montrose was ranked a 2ème Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, with vines facing the Gironde estuary on deep gravel beds that drain naturally and temper extremes. The vineyard’s rare continuity—largely in one sweep—allows a precise parcel map. For “La Dame”, lots from the same estate are selected to highlight suppleness, Merlot often leading the blend and Cabernet Sauvignon bringing line.

The standards remain identical to the Grand Vin: strict selection, careful extraction and élevage in French oak tuned to the year rather than a fixed recipe. It is Saint-Estèphe rendered with earlier grace, yet unmistakably anchored in Montrose’s rigorous sense of place.
