Brolio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2016, 0,75l 6er HK

BrandCastello di Brolio
RegionEurope - Italy - Tuscany
CategoryWines - Red wine

Ricasoli’s Gran Selezione is drawn from meticulously selected Sangiovese parcels around the Castello di Brolio. These vines grow on stony, poor soils and yield grapes of great concentration and natural elegance. The bouquet is layered, with dark cherry, blackberry and plum alongside tobacco, Mediterranean herbs, sweet spice and a hint of graphite. On the palate the wine is powerful yet finely etched, showing dense fruit, firm but refined tannins and vibrant acidity. Subtle roasted notes and touches of cocoa and cedar reflect maturation in oak without masking the sense of place. The finish is very long and complex, marked by savoury spice and a faintly salty minerality. A serious Chianti Classico for special occasions, calling for slow-cooked dishes, fine cuts of meat or mature hard cheeses.
