Discover the character of Ch. de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge
Château de Beaucastel is one of the great names of Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape and has been farmed organically and biodynamically for decades. The vineyards lie on the appellation’s classic galets roulés – large rounded stones over clay – and host all 13 permitted grape varieties, with a high share of Mourvèdre alongside Grenache, Syrah and Counoise. Each variety is harvested and vinified separately in oak or concrete before the blend is aged in large foudres. The bouquet offers dark berries, plum and cherry with garrigue herbs, pepper, liquorice and smoky nuances. On the palate Beaucastel is powerful, layered and yet remarkably fresh, with fine tannins and a very long finish, built to age gracefully.
