Cillar de Silos Torresilo – A true delight from Ribera del Duero
Torresilo from Cillar de Silos is a powerful Tempranillo grown in high-altitude vineyards in Ribera del Duero, planted with vines between forty and one hundred years old. Rooted in sandy clay soils, these old vines deliver tiny yields of intensely flavoured grapes. The wine spends many months in French oak, most of it new, gaining remarkable depth and structure. On the nose it offers black cherry, blackberry and ripe plum layered with warm spice, vanilla, cocoa and a touch of smoke. The palate is silky yet muscular, with dense, ripe tannins, vibrant acidity and a distinct mineral backbone. A long, spicy and fruit-driven finish confirms Torresilo as a benchmark Ribera red to pair with roast lamb, slow-cooked beef, game and refined gastronomy.
