Cillar de Silos
In Ribera del Duero, around Quintana del Pidio, Cillar de Silos has been a family bodega since 1994, built on the belief that real finesse comes from a mosaic of small parcels. Old Tempranillo (Tinta del País) vines—many decades in age—sit on poor, elevated sites framed by woodland and stony soils, where altitude cools the nights and slows ripening.
Each plot is picked separately and hand sorted, keeping precision at the centre. Traditional cellars, including cool underground spaces, offer naturally stable conditions, ideal for a slow, unhurried élevage, while ageing in barriques and larger barrels is used to underline origin, not to dominate it.
The house style favours altitude, calcareous streaks and the quiet authority of old vines: artisanal, disciplined and unmistakably Castilian in spirit.Cillar de Silos
