| Citadelle Gin Réserve is the barrel-aged expression of Citadelle and has become a benchmark among aged gins. After distillation in Charentais copper pot stills, the gin rests in a solera of five different woods – acacia, chestnut, mulberry, wild cherry and French oak. This maturation gives a pale golden colour and remarkable aromatic depth. The nose combines juniper with dried spice, tobacco, orange peel, coconut and white flowers. On the palate Réserve is silky, layered and spicy, showing flavours of candied citrus, vanilla, ginger and almonds. The long, dry yet elegant finish makes this gin perfect for sipping neat, serving over a large cube of ice or mixing into refined Negroni twists and gin-based Old Fashioned variations. | |
