Wieninger

In the heart of Vienna, Wieninger proves that true terroir doesn’t stop at the city limits. Vineyards on Bisamberg and Nussberg—split by the Danube—create two distinct voices: sandy loess over calcareous subsoil on Bisamberg for lifted, taut wines, and flysch marl with shell limestone on Nussberg for spice and depth.

The estate is certified biodynamic and farmed with meticulous handwork in its Rieden; the cellar philosophy stays deliberately purist. Fritz Wieninger helped drive the revival of Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC and, with the Wiener Traditionsweingüter, supports the classification of Erste Lagen that give the city’s sites a formal hierarchy.

From this urban landscape comes precision and longevity—wines shaped by vintage, patient lees ageing and a clear sense of place.
