Dockner Josef

Just outside Höbenbach in Lower Austria, Dockner Josef farms slopes that look toward Göttweig and the Kremstal landscape. What began as a small holding in 1934 has grown into a family estate where tradition is treated as a tool, not a museum piece.

Loess, clay and pockets of ancient rock give each parcel a different voice, so vineyards are harvested and vinified separately. Depending on the lot, fermentations run cool in stainless steel or with native yeasts, followed by patient ageing on the fine lees to build depth without heaviness.

In the cellar the ambition is restraint: clean extraction, precise timing, and decisions that keep the site in focus. From Grüner Veltliner and Riesling to the reds, the style stays defined by tension, fine phenolics and a quiet, mineral finish that keeps the origin in frame.
