Platzer

Around Tieschen in Styria’s volcanic hills, Weinhof Platzer turns landscape into a quietly persuasive style: basaltic soils, gentle slopes and cool nights lend the vines a savoury, focused drive. For generations the family has worked parcel by parcel with plenty of handwork, crop control and selective picking, guiding each site through the growing season to full physiological ripeness, year after year.

In the cellar, restraint is the craft. Gentle pressing, clean fermentations and élevage in stainless steel—often with time on fine lees sur lie—keep freshness and origin in the foreground. Even in DAC sites such as Ried Aunberg, precision matters more than volume. The result is unmistakably Südoststeiermark: clear, linear wines that speak of place through structure and tension, not through noise.
